Final few days remain for NDP hopefuls to "get out the vote"

The two month campaign to find the candidate to take up the NDP flag from retiring MP Nathan Cullen will come to an end on Saturday, as members of the Skeena-Bulkley Valley Riding Association gather in Terrace to make their selection for the NDP candidate  for this falls General Election campaign.

With but three days remaining until the Saturday vote at the Northwest Trades and Employment Training Centre in Thornhill, the four candidates will be looking to squeeze as much get out the vote time as they can from the dwindling hours until the votes are counted.

The four Taylor Bachrach,  Greg Brown,  Anita McPhee and Amanda Ramsey have been criss crossing the wide expanse of Skeena-Bulkley Valley through much of the last month, making stops at coffee shops and pub nights, as well as taking part in regional debates to share their vision of how they are best suited to take to the political campaign of the Fall federal vote.

Saturday's Nomination meeting will take place from 1 to 3 PM, with ballots available for delegates to cast in person if they wish.  Registration for the nomination vote will be available starting at Noon on the day of the event.

Those who cannot make the trip to Terrace for the Saturday meeting have had an opportunity to mail in their choices over the last few weeks.

This Thursday evening online voting will be made available prior to the Nomination meeting, allowing for those outside of the Terrace region to participate in the political process.

The 24 hour online vote starts at 5PM on May 23 and will come to an end at 5 PM on the 24th.

Voting instructions have been delivered to candidates at their mailing address, you can keep up to date on the lead up to the nomination through the Skeena-Bulkley Valley NDP Facebook page.

Saturday's nomination meeting will also feature a special guest speaker, with MP Romeo Saganash scheduled to speak to the delegates and nominated candidates as part of the meeting.
