North Coast candidates in the 2017 provincial election will meet in debate on April 24th at the Lester Centre |
Today marks the official launch of the 2017 Provincial election campaign, though the date is for the most part a technical formality, as in reality the campaign has been engaged for weeks now, with a number of key issues already dominating the commentary to this point.
While the three candidates that have declared for this election move forward with some of their door to door themes for voters to review, the first chance that Prince Rupert residents will apparently have to see them exchange ideas on a stage, won't come until later this moth.
That's when the Prince Rupert Chamber of Commerce will play host for the North Coast Riding All Candidates Debate, a two hour opportunity to hear the candidates vision for how they would represent the North Coast and what their respective parties have to offer the region.
Set for Monday, April 24th at the Lester Centre, the Debate will take place from 7 to 9 PM offering the NDP's Jennifer Rice, Liberal Herb Pond and Green Party candidate Hondo Arendt an opportunity to make their pitch to the people in the final two weeks of the 2017 campaign.
The doors will open at 6:30 for Lester debate, it will also be broadcast on CityWest Chanel 10 and HD310 as well as streamed through the CityWest website.
Updates on the way to Debate night can be found on the Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
