The Northwest communication company CityWest is set to put its focus on the Terrace market this Spring, with the City of Prince Rupert owned company announcing a planned investment of 1 million dollars to expand its fibre based services in the Terrace region.
That work will for the most part take place in the downtown region of Terrace and is designed to expand the Quantum 125 service to the community, that Internet service was launched in January and is the latest stage of what has been over 50 million dollars in capital improvements across Northern BC.
In an information release from Monday, CityWest CEO Chris Marett outlined how the communication company is constantly looking to expand on the services offered through the Northwest.
"This work is the continuation of our plan to keep investing in Terrace," ..."Our team of 80 dedicated employees from Northern B.C. has been constantly improving our customers' networks for over a decade. The work they do today will improve our technology to ensure our customers get a great experience now, and for many years into the future."
The CityWest moves come as Telus also expands on its service commitment to the Terrace region, last May they outlined their plans to deliver their Optik network to over ninety percent of the homes and businesses in the community.
As part of the expansion of service to the Terrace area, the company notes that some inconvenience may be found by residents as the work continues in the downtown area.
Earlier this year, CityWest made a significant investment in the Bulkley Valley, improving service to the Houston area.
