Lax Kw'alaams Settlement Trust Synopsis available for online review


 Residents of Lax Kw'alaams can dig a little deeper into the work of those involved with the Lax Kw'alaams Settlement Trust initiative, with a report from the Trustees now available online providing for a short overview of their work in 2023.

The synopsis provides a look at the work of the Trustees, from workshops in the community to those held in Prince Rupert and Vancouver. It explores areas of funding fr that work, as well as short financial overview towards where funds have been invested.

Lax Kw'alaams Band notes that a larger report is available for members upon request.

The Lax Kw'alaams Settlement Trust was established following a Settlement Agreement between First Nations  and Canada related to the los of unsurrendered interest in the southern portion of Tsimpsean Indian Reserve 2.

Last month the Band Council outlined the roster of trustees to the Trust following last year's elections.
