City updates its notes on the Boil Water Advisory, which will continue for another week at minimum


Keep on Boiling, that for the most part is the advice residents of Prince Rupert have received from the City, with the latest update to the Boil Water Notice posted to the city's website today.

In the Short Advisory, residents are advised that the Boil Water Notice will remain in effect until the City and Northern Health provide notification that it has been removed.

The City notice of Wednesday also indicates that the Boil Water Notice will remain in effect for another week at a minimum which takes the community past Christmas and Boxing Day.

In their latest update of today, the City advises that the Notice remains in
effect for the next week at a minimum

The City notes that because the tests need to be sent to Vancouver, there is a minimum turn around time of three days for each test result.

The latest update adds that in the interests of public health, the City and Northern Health will be waiting until a number of clear test results are received before the notice will be lifted.

As well as through their website, the City also updated their original Facebook notice of December 14th.

So far, there has been no update notice delivered through the city's mobile app notification program.
