City opens Community Enhancement Grant application period

Local groups which meet the criteria have until September 14th to submit an application as part of the City of Prince Rupert's Community Enhancement Grant process.

The Grants are provided by the City whether by 'cash or in kind' format to a range of Non-Profit/Volunteer Groups that operate in the community.

The annual call for applicants was relayed last week through a notice in the weekly newspaper, with the City outlining some of the background to the application process.

The City also notes that application forms available from City Hall, or through a form to be provided through the city website which you can download for the application process.

The City's policy when it comes to previous Community Enhancement Grants can be reviewed below:

While the City notes that more information is available on the city website, the full package of information related to this years Community Grant Process has not as of yet, been posted to the City's online portal.

As well, the city is a little slow on the delivery of the call for applications, with no mentions as of yet on the city's social media accounts.

So until the information does begin to flow for this year, you can explore some of the background to the process from last year, as well as to review the application form through this notice from one year ago.

A look back at the 2017 process can be found here, including a list of those organizations which submitted applications for the 2018 Community Enhancement Grants.

The decisions by City council related to the Community Grant applicants spurred some discussion on the Mayor's Social Media page following last years announcement of the successful recipients.

Should you require more information related to this years Community Enhancement Grant program contact Executive Assistant, Brianne Bunko at City Hall at 250-627-0934 . You can also email Ms. Bunko at Brianne.bunko@princerupert.ca

Completed forms are to be returned to Ms. Bunko at City Hall by 4 PM of September 14th
