MLA's Week: March 14-17, 2016
It was a fairly light week for the North Coast representative when it came to presentations in the Legislature for the final week before the MLA's Spring Break.
Ms Rice was listed twice in the archive of participants for the thirteen sessions of the Legislature, or for those listings related to work as part of House Committees for the week of March 14-17
Wednesday, the North Coast MLA had two contributions as part of the afternoon session of the Legislature, the first a short statement on the important work of Dietitians, that presentation as a part of the Legislature observance of Dietitian's Day across Canada.
The second appearance in the Legislature Chamber that afternoon provided for a lengthy review of the impact that the Great Bear Rainforest Agreement will have on the Central Coast region.

Ms Rice is also a member of the Committee on Children and Youth, however that Committee did not meet this week.
One other note of interest out of Victoria came with word that the Metlakatla First Nation had signed benefits agreements with two pipeline proponents related to LNG development, an item that was noted by the Provincial government, following as it does on the announcement from last week of provincial funding for training and other issues in Tsimshian communities.

Members of the Legislature now embark on a two week Spring Break, with a return to the Chamber to take place on April 4, 2016.
There is more background on the North Coast MLA available from our MLA's Week Archive as well as our General Archive on the Legislature.
