The Prime Minister's visit to the Governor General on Sunday morning makes for an eleven week marathon for those contesting the riding, not to mention those of us about to be bombarded with flyers, advertising and maybe even a knock on the door.

For the Northwest, as of the election call, only two of the four main parties had announced their candidates for the campaign ahead, with the Conservatives having selected Tyler Nebsitt to offer the challenge to incumbent NDP MP Nathan Cullen.
