City of Prince Rupert Opens Application process for Community Enhancement Grants for 2016

Community Groups in Prince Rupert that are looking for financial assistance, or the provision of services in kind from the City of Prince Rupert for their organization's operation, have until mid September to make their case to the City of Prince Rupert.

During the recent budget process of the spring, the City's Finance Department brought forward the recommended Budget amount of $1,377,000 to be put towards Contributions to Community Partners for the 2015 period (see page seven of Report to Council).

Looking ahead towards 2016, the City has launched the Community Enhancement Grant process for 2016, taking applications at City Hall from those groups in the Community that may wish to access the city's funding through cash grants, special grants, services-in-kind, and inventory items such as gravel, sand and such.

The process of application involves filling out and completing a Community Enhancement Grant Application Form available from City Hall on Third Avenue West or online at princerupert.ca.

Supporting documentation will also be required for the completed applications and the City advises that any  applications that are incomplete may be rejected or returned.

Among the items that the City is looking for to support applications:

A list of your organization’s Board of Directors, Officers and Executive Directors

Your organization’s audited financial statements for the most recent completed fiscal year; If audited financial statements are not available, submit the financial statements for the most recent completed fiscal year endorsed by two signing officers of the Board of Directors

Your organization’s current fiscal year operating budget

Completed forms are to be delivered to the City by September 11th, 2015.
