As the Haisla led CEDAR LNG plans prepare to move forward, the first step towards the project could come in just a few months with land clearing operations planned for as early as May.
The Advisory towards that step came through the CEDAR LNG website last week.
The Cedar LNG Project is a partnership between the Haisla Nation and Pembina Pipeline Corporation to develop a floating liquefied natural gas facility in Kitimat, within the traditional territory of the Haisla Nation.
It marks the second LNG proposal for the Kitimat region, which has gained the most benefit from the drift away from Prince Rupert as the potential home community for LNG development over the last decade.

The Cedar LNG is one of two Indigenous led Terminal developments in development, the other being the Nisga'a Nation led KSI Lisims LNG project for the Nass Valley.
