Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP outlines his position on Liberals plans on firearms bill

Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP Taylor Bachrach has responded to some
of the feedback his office has received on the Federal government's
proposed changes to Firearms legislation

The MP for Skeena-Bulkley Valley has taken to his social media stream to outline a few of his thoughts on the current firearms legislation making its way through Parliament.

Like many MP's particularly those representing rural communities, Mr. Bachrach has been hearing from constituents about what many believe is a significant overreach by the Federal Liberal government.

Through his Facebook stream, Taylor Bachrach walks his constituents through his way of thinking on the topic.

"I've always supported the responsible ownership and use of firearms that is part of the life here in the northwest for many folks. The rifles and shotguns that people commonly use for hunting, for predator control and for backcountry safety.

Recently the Liberals brought forward an amendment to C-21 that expands the scope of the legislation an would prohibit many models of firearms in that category. That's not something I support  I want you to know that really clearly" -- Skeena Bulkley Valley MP Taylor Bachrach

His full commentary for constituents can be viewed below:

You can review the Federal legislation as it currently is proposed from the House of Commons website here.

The Liberals have been receiving some significant push back on their plans as the Bill and its recent amendment makes its way through Parliament.

Among those raising the most concerns are those who hunt and First Nations that have reminded the government of the impact of their legislation towards their own requirements.

The growing volume of some of that concern giving some in the media to suggest a revisit to the proposal may soon be in the offing.
