“Activities that engage people of all ages to play sports, enjoy arts programs and celebrate cultural festivities are at the heart of B.C.’s thriving and resilient communities. Community Gaming Grants continue to provide critical funding for these community-based programs that support British Columbians and help them make strong community connections.” -- Josie Osborne, Minister of Municipal Affairs.
In their information release of today, the province outlines how they distribute the funding and note that more than $43 million is being directed towards support for local organizations.
In the Prince Rupert area the funding announced today is as follows:
For the Arts Sector:
The Northern British Columbia Museum Association received the larges amount with $56,000 allocated towards that organization.
Others in the Arts Sector to receive funding include:
Association des Francophones et Francophiles due Nord $19,000
Harbour Theatre Society $13,000
JPA Jazz Productions Association of British Columbia $7,000
From the Sport Side funding will be provided to the following:
Prince Rupert Amateur Swim Club $20,000
Prince Rupert Gymnastics Association $23,000
Prince Rupert Skating Club $10,000
