School District 52 has added on to their findings on enrolment delivered as part of their October 12th School Board meeting, with some updated information on the students in attendance provided through an information release on Tuesday.
As we noted last week, the Board received a short snapshot at the session from Sandra Pond who noted that the count of students enrolled in the District as of September 30th was 1,830 students.
Yesterday's information release added some further background to that number, observing that the number is virtually unchanged from the previous year,. But that it is less than what had been forecast, with the District coming up short of the 1,900 student mark that had been set previous for 2021-22.
Two years ago, the September enrolment numbers indicated the the District had 1,967 students, so in the course of two years SD52 has seen a net loss of 137 students.
As officials observed in the update, that level of enrolment may have an impact ton the District's Ministry grants, that financial instrument is adjusted in December and is baed on the actual enrolment count.
