Reinforcing the message to wear a mask, North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice will be out around the community distributing face masks as part of the ongoing efforts towards COVID-19.

Through her social media feed this week, Ms. Rice notes that her office in the Ocean Centre Mall has received a volume of the face coverings for distribution, inviting constituents to drop in and put one on.

The masks include the now famous phraseology of Doctor Bonnie Henry of

Be Kind, Be Calm, Be Safe

To further her efforts, the MLA will be at Canada Safeway today until 1:30 PM handing them out.

Ms. Rice also notes that she is arranging to have masks delivered to Haida Gwaii and the Central Coast.

Find out more about the project from her Facebook page.

The MLA's work on mask awareness comes as the Provincial Health Officer released the latest case count of COVID yesterday, which featured a post Labour Day spike of nearly 430 cases, as well as a reversal on some previous orders to shut down nightclubs and banquet halls and revise operations for bars.

You can review those notes from our COVID-19 archive page here.
