The topic of Food Systems and Food Security on a local basis will make for a community Zoom discussion this Thursday from 7 to 8:30 PMHosted by Ecotrust Canada and the North Coast Innovation Lab the discussion will explore a range of topics on local food security, beyond what food security means and towards ideas for how North Coast residents can achieve them.
As part of the evening, organizers want to hear from community members about their ideas for enhancing local food production and distribution in our area, as well as food literacy. Among the areas they hope to hear about, is the role food has played in this region over time.
Part of the evening will feature a presentation from Community Planner Rob Buchan, who is working on updating the City of Prince Rupert’s Official Community Plan (OCP).
Mr. Buchan will outline how the OCP can potentially support and encourage local food and food security activities.
Those with an interest in participating are asked to RSVP to Alexie@ecotrust.ca for a link to the event, or sign up to the event page on Facebook here
Participation will be through the use of a password protected Zoom, so it's important that you RSVP to get the Zoom link and password emailed to you before the event.
