As has been noted many times in recent weeks, British Columbia, the other provinces and the Federal government have all been scouring the world seeking out the valuable supplies required.
Though as Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland noted a few days ago, the situation is very much like a wild west experience these days, with supplies held at the border, or others scuppered up by other countries who suddenly appear with fistfuls of dollars.
These very unusual times have provided for the stark picture of once loyal allies now turning inwards, shutting down valuable supply lines just when they are required the most.
One solution for BC was launched earlier this month with the British Columbian government launched an online supply post of sorts, looking to access products or accepting donations from British Columbia industry, commercial groups or individuals.
The immediate need features a list of Priority products that go to the urgent needs of those on the frontlines of the response for patients of the COVID-19 virus.
More about the BC Supply program and how you can become involved with it can be found here.
