NWCC Reaches across borders to expand business education options for North Coast students

A two year business diploma at NWCC could be your passport to further study in the United States after Northwest Community College and Park University in Missouri have completed an agreement to expand the opportunities for Northwest students.

The arrangement with Park will guarantee admission for NWCC students to complete a Bachelor of Science in Management after two years of additional study at the Parkville campus near Kansas City.

NWCC President Ken Burt noted the opportunity that the new agreement with Park provides for students across the region.

“Our goal is to provide adventurous pathways coming into our college and going out of College,” ... “For each agreement we are signing we want them to be able to access unique courses and to do so in a cost-effective manner.”

Park University which has 41 campus centres across the United States is based near Kansas City, Missouri and has over 16,000 students and lists 54 graduate and undergraduate degrees as part of its curriculum.

Students from NWCC who wish to take other courses beyond the Bachelor of Science in Management program, will also be given full consideration, including an option to pursue their studies through distance education.

Another area being considered by both educational institutions is to provide a pathway for NWCC's criminology program to transfer to the Park University Criminal Justice Program.

The agreement with Park University, is the fifth of these international agreements that the college has completed over the last year, with the college previously signing agreements with universities and colleges in Australia, Denmark, Finland and Portugal.
