The phone calls which fanned out across the riding on Thursday outline some of the background to the Town Hall concept, which will look to engage as many residents of the riding as possible in the one hour period from 7 to 8 PM Pacific time.
The consultation is for residents of the Skeena-Bulkley Valley riding only and during the course of Monday's Telephone Town Hall Mr. Cullen will be joined by guest Katelynn Northam, representing the advocacy organization Leadnow, which is seeking to achieve electoral progress.
“We want to hear as directly as possible from all residents of our huge riding about their best ideas and hopes to improve the now outdated and non-representative system Canadians have used to elect their Members of Parliament for close to 150 years,” -- MP Nathan Cullen on plans for a Telephone Town Hall on Monday.
The process of participation is fairly simple, on September 19th all residential and cellular numbers in Skeena-Bulkley Valley that are in the Elections Canada database will be computer dialed offering residents the chance to listen in and participate.
Those that are not in the data base, or for some reason don't receive a call can still take part in the event at 7PM on Monday, the process is as easy as calling the toll free number of 1-877-229-8493 and entering the ID code of 112621.
