With concerns related to transportation issues and the Government response to the missing and murdered women issues making for for much of the work week in the BC Legislature for North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice.
Ms. Rice raised the those topics twice during Question Periods over the course of the four days on the Legislature calendar this past week.
She also made a final contribution to the ongoing discussion over proposed electoral boundary changes for British Columbia, a process which will see the North Coast riding remain the same as it is currently configured.
Along the way, the MLA also would also share some thoughts on the North Coast riding with the Legislature, making note of her enthusiasm for the central coast and the Klemtu area, as well as providing the Legislature with some observations on fishing on the North Coast.
As we do at the end of each week of the Legislature session, we outline some of the main notes of interest from the North Coast MLA's work week.
Ms Rice was formally listed six times in the archive of participants for the five sessions of the Legislature in the House, or those related to House Committee work listed for the week of November 2-6.
On Monday evening, she offered up a contribution to the debate on the proposed changes to electoral boundaries currently under discussion at the Legislature, and while there are no changes planned for the North Coast electoral constituency, the North Coast MLA outlined a number of notes related to the representation of the North Coast and Haida Gwaii area prior to offering her support for Bill 42. Ms. Rice's main contributions to the Legislature week in Victoria came through a pair of Question Period appearances on Monday and Thursday.
In those sessions, she and NDP MLA Maurine Karagianis took Transportation Minister Todd Stone to task over a number of concerns related to the Highway 16 issue, most of them related to recently disclosed information from the provincial government on the theme of transportation options for the Northwest region.

The North Coast MLA also took advantage of the Members Statements portion of the Legislature week, providing for a number of observations, starting with a focus on Adoption on Monday afternoon.

On Wednesday, Ms. Rice introduced Chief Councillor Doug Neasloss of the Kitasoo/Xai'sais Nation to the Legislature, making note of his work as a resource stewardship director, as well as the lead tour guide for Spirit Bear Adventures. (see 1340 to Legislature Record or view her presentation here)
Thursday, she offered up a sample of the opportunities for sport fishing on the North Coast, recounting some of her experiences on local waters (see 1015 of the Legislature Record, or view her presentation to the Legislature here)
Ms Rice is also a member of the Committee on Children and Youth, however that Committee did not meet this week.
Members of the Legislature will now be away from Victoria for the week surrounding Remembrance Day on Wednesday, return to their work on Monday, November 16th.
