After nearly one month away from their duties in Council Chambers, a fairly light Agenda will greet the returning Mayor and Council members tonight.
The First Council session for October makes for the first public meeting be held since the Mayor's extensive out of town travels to Alaska in September, as well as his attendance at the annual UBCM Convention in Vancouver.
The evening starts off with a number of reports from the City Planner, Chief Financial Officer and City Communications Manger.
Council will also review the Permissive Property Tax Exemption Bylaw and hear the details of a letter to be forwarded to CN Rail to outline the City's concerns over VIA rail scheduling difficulties for the Skeena Run into the city.
The evening wraps up with Council Members offered the opportunity to raise in public forum, any items of interest or concern that they may have.
That segment of the evening's session could provide the Mayor with a chance to recap his travels to Alaska on themes of the now discontinued AMHS service to the City.
Mr. Brain and the Council members will also have an opportunity to share some of their observations from the five day UBCM convention of of late September in Vancouver.

Tonight also brings a return of the Closed Council Meetings, with tonight's 5PM session closed to public with the City citing four sections of the Community Charter as to why they will Close the doors tonight.
