Spring and Summer will make for some road travel for our elected officials on the North Coast, with a number of municipal government conventions on the destination list for 2018.
The first of the travel opportunities came last weekend, with the 69th gathering of the Association of Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities convention which took place in Victoria from April 13 to 15.
The North Coast Regional District became a member of that collective last year, after receiving confirmation that their application for membership in the AVICC had been accepted,
Though if the Agenda and Resolution package from last weekend's convention is an indication, the North Coast delegation had a pretty low profile for their first official attendance at the event.
A scan of the list of resolutions for this years event finds no contributions provided from the North Coast when it comes to discussion points for the three day conference.
For its part, Regional District hasn't shared much about what they may have brought home from the conference through their website as of yet
To this point, the regional government's information portal provides for no updates about the event, nor any indication as to who may have attended the convention to represent the North Coast District and how many delegates that the Regional government may have sent down for the event.

The next opportunity for travel from elected officials comes up in May, when the North Central Local Government Association holds its annual convention, this year the road map takes delegates to Fort Nelson for the two day conference.
City Council and Regional Government officials will also have Whistler in their future for September, the biggest of the annual conventions for municipal officials UBCM takes place in the resort city this year.
