Prince Rupert City Council comes together tonight with a rather light Agenda for their final meeting for April |
With but a few items on the Agenda, the main focus of this evening's City Council session could be the delivery of a much anticipated report from the City's Small Advisory Business Committee, with a presentation scheduled as part of this evenings Council meeting.
Beyond that, there are only a few housekeeping items on the Agenda for tonight, with a report from the Community planner related to a property on 8th Avenue East, as well as some finishing work required to move the city's Five year financial plan and tax bylaw ahead for 2018.
The Committee of the Whole process would appear to be a light one as well, with no Agenda for the session posted as of yet to the City's website.
Council Members will also meet in a Closed Session at 5PM:
With Council choosing to close the doors for the following criteria: 90.1 (a) personal information about an identifiable individual who holds or is being considered for a position as an officer, employee or agent of the municipality or another position appointed by the municipality; (c) labour relations or other employee relations. (k) negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a municipal service that are at their preliminary stages and that, in the view of the council, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality if they were held in public.
Considering the volume of material that appears set to be covered in the 5 PM sessions, it could be that the Closed to the public session for Council may last longer than the one that is open to the public.
The Agenda for the Regular Council session, Committee of the Whole and Public Hearing for April 23 can be accessed here.
COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE
Adoption of Agenda and Past minutes -- Mayor Brain will review the agenda for the evening and Council will adopt the minutes of past meetings.
No Agenda has been posted related to the Committee of the Whole segment.
However, one element that is common to the end of the month session is the opportunity for those in attendance to deliver any Questions or concerns that they may have for the Council members.
