Transition Prince Rupert hosting General Membership meeting tonight

Transition Prince Rupert the grass roots movement in the community that is looking to make the North Coast a more sustainable environment is hosting it' General Membership meeting this evening, with an opportunity for members and those that may be interested in becoming members to learn more about upcoming projects.

The event takes place tonight from 7 to 8:30 PM at Northwest Community College in Room 155 of the 5th Street college campus.

Among some of the topics up for review tonight, an update on some current Transition projects, workshops and information sessions to come in the new year.

As well, one proposed community project and two major initiatives will be examined.

The much discussed McKay Street Project, recently mentioned by Mayor Lee Brain as part of the Hays 2.0 community vision document, will be the focus of part of the evening's discussion.

As well there will be a review of the Municipal Sustainability Working Group and something called the Green City Initiative.

You can lean more about what Transition Prince Rupert is all about from their website and Facebook page.
