Hawkair aligns scheduled service with Central Mountain Air

A few days after it suspended it's Prince Rupert operations, Hawkair the Terrace based airline Hawkair had another announcement to make this one, an update on the latest business arrangement between Hawkair and Smithers based Central Mountain Air.

The two Northwest airlines have entered into a capacity purchase agreement, with Hawkair and CMA linking their regional networks in British Columbia and Alberta.

“We’re in a hyper-competitive airline market that is rapidly changing every year,”  ... “This is part of our continued innovation of Hawkair’s service offering and aligned with our purpose of helping people connect to world around us.” -- Hawkair President Jay Dilley.

As part of the new agreement, Hawkair will operate its existing daily scheduled flights on behalf of  Central Mountain Air, with marketing links now established with CMA's reservation system.

The airline notes that it will continue to operate its charter flight operations independently of the new alliance with CMA.

Last week, Hawkair noted that as part of its schedule realignment, providing increased capacity for Central Mountain Air's Terrace-Prince George-Kelowna route would take place as of December 1st.

That shift was highlighted by CMA announcement on November 24th

The announcement from Hawkair of yesterday, would appear to be turning over the decisions on capacity for the future scheduled airline service to Smithers based airline.
