Renovictions and affordable housing remain current themes of concern for Prince Rupert renters |
Mr. Legace who is Coordinator and Poverty Law Advocate at the Prince Rupert Unemployed.Action Centre on Third Avenue West has frequently spoken out for those forced from their homes by renoviction, or unable to find affordable accommodation in the community.
He has addressed the ongoing renoviction situation a number of times in recent months, most recently having provided assistance to those who were being moved out of their homes on the east side of the city last year.
More currently, he has been speaking out in support of the proposed Lax Kw'alaams Housing plans for 11th Avenue East and also has commented on the current recruitment campaign Make Prince Rupert Home, that the City has partnered in on, highlighting how the need for affordable housing should continue to be a focus.
The Committee of the Whole session will be the opening act for tonights Regular Council session, the Zoom presentation which is available online through the City's website and on CityWest Cable 10 will start at 7PM.
