Day One's activities take place at the Haisla Recreation Centre, as the first sessions of the Two day event covers a range of topics, with issues of reconciliation with First Nations mixing with economic notes related to industrial development in the Northwest.
The forum was scheduled to open up at 11 o'clock this morning with opening remarks from Chief Councillor Ellis Ross and Kitimat Mayor Phil Germuth, following those presentations organizers have assembled a lengthy list of guest speakers for the event.
Many are set to provide insight into the various challenges and opportunities that are facing the Northwest, with those in attendance at the forum looking to explore those themes and seek to share information from their communities.

Expected to join Mayor Brain on the panel will be David Keane the President of the LNG Alliance and Greg Cano, Project Director for Coastal Gas Link
The Agenda for Day Two which will take place at the Kitimat Valley Institute returns to the theme of LNG development in Northwest British Columbia.
One of the featured events of the day will be an information session with Amber Sheasgreen from all Nations Consulting set to host a Panel discussion at 9 AM on Friday.
The forum comes to an end at 1 PM on Friday afternoon.
