The Prince Rupert Port Authority is currently accepting applications for membership in its Community Information Forum initiative for 2016 |
The program known as the Community Information Forum was created in 2014 and since that time has held regular sessions for its members to discuss and exchange ideas when it comes to areas of concern that are relevant to the Port and its various partners.
While not a decision making body, it does provide the Prince Rupert Port Authority with guidance when it comes to its activities along the North Coast and provides the Port with a window into the community and how its development plans are being viewed in the region.
Applications for membership in the 2016 edition of the Board are now being accepted with a deadline of May 18th for those that are interested in submitting their names for participation.
To apply, interested applicants should send a letter to the Port of Prince Rupert describing their interest in membership as well as providing any background that might be related to the board, such as community group membership or interests that you may have on local issues related to port development.
Applications are to be delivered to Maynard Angus c/o Prince Rupert Port Authority, 200-215 Cow Bay Road, Prince Rupert BC V8J 1A2
You can learn more about what the Community Information Forum is all about through a webpage that is part of the Prince Rupert Port Authority website, included in that flow of information is a record of the minutes of past meetings of the consultative body.
The minutes from the past sessions offer up a helpful glimpse into the nature of the discussion that takes place and make note of some of the past participants that have offered their service to the Forum over the last three years.
