A collection of local environmental groups are working together this weekend, bringing in a pair of highly acclaimed guest speakers to highlight the concerns for the environment and the impact of climate change on the North Coast.
The session which takes place Saturday at the Lester Centre of the Arts will feature Roy Henry Vickers and Guy Dauncey who will be talking climate at the Prince Rupert event.
Mr. Dauncey is an award winning author, speaker and eco-futurist, his presentation will be looking to inform the audience about the need for a sustainable future and to translate that vision into a course of action.
Mr. Vickers is the highly acclaimed leader of the First Nations community, known as well for his work in the arts and literature. A highly sought after keynote speaker he looks to inspire communities to appreciate family, community and nature.
The event takes place at 7 PM on Saturday, there is no charge for admission.
The evening of discussion and exchange of ideas is sponsored by the T. Buck Suzuki Environmental Foundation, Friends of Wild Salmon and the Prince Rupert Environmental Society.
