While they sort through the current leadership issues of the community, the Lax Kw'alaams Band continues to seek out the input of members of the community on the theme of LNG development in the region.
Towards that community engagement, the Lax Kw'alaams Band is conducting an online survey of its members seeking to learn their opinions and thoughts on the question of LNG development, the survey also provides the opportunity for those taking part to ask questions of the Band leadership on the theme of development.
The research material that is taken from the survey will be used by Band leaders to asset them in seeking ways to promote Band interests and make decision about projects that may impact Lax Kw'alaams territory.
Those that choose to participate in the survey may also find that their questions and observations provide for further dialogue on the issue and opportunities that LNG may deliver to the community.
The survey is limited to those that belong to the Lax Kw'alaams membership, age 14 and above and can be accessed through the Lax Kw'alaams Facebook page (alternative link to the survey can be found here)
According to a note of August 29th to their online portal, thus far some 415 members have taken the survey, with a few members offering their comments on the process to links to the Facebook post.
The final day for submissions to the LNG survey is September 5th.
