Discount hunters should keep an eye on the calendar as City Utility payment period arrives

The City of Prince Rupert is reminding residents looking to take advantage of the ten percent discount on civic utilities that with the shift to online collection there are timelines to keep in mind when it comes to electronic transfer of funds.

With a payment due date of the end of the month the city notes that residents need to provide for a bit of a buffer for their transfer of funds to allow for it to arrive prior to the payment deadline

Reminder: If you are coordinating payment with your bank, this should be done no later than Friday, March 26th, 2021 to ensure that it is received by the March 31st deadline.

Payments made through your Financial Institution at least 3 business days beforehand will likely be received on time. To receive the 10% discount, payments made on or after March 29th may not be received on time.

Please pay before this date.

In mid February we took note of the arrival of the utility bills and the schedule of fee increases that came with it following the work of City Council last year to adopt the fees and charges for 2021-2024.
