Metlakatla prepares to deliver COVID cash to assist members in challenging times

Members of the Metlakatla First Nation will be receiving an additional 500 dollars in December, as the Governing Council prepares to make a second instalment of COVID related cash for community members.

The advisory for residents of the First Nation was posted to the MFN Facebook page and Website on Thursday, with the Governing Council approving the COVID related funding to assist its members during these difficult times.

To participate in the COVID related program, Metlakatla members much apply for the funds, submitting an application form to the communications office for the community.

The first distribution of financial assistance for members took place in April of this year, with 500 dollars provided for Metlakatla members towards the challenges of COVID in its early days.
