Funding available for Active School Travel projects across British Columbia

A chance for local schools to access up to 10,000 in cash funding towards Active School Travel projects and other initiatives is now available.

That as BC Healthy Communities opens the window for applications towards a new pilot project.

The goal of the Active School Travel Pilot Program is to support more students to use active modes of travel (walk, wheel, cycle, scooter) to and from school.

To determine how best to support schools to achieve that, the pilot will test the feasibility and applicability of existing evidence-based Active School Travel Programs in a small cohort of B.C. school communities from November 2020–December 2021.

Contact BC Healthy Communities for more information, or submit an Expression of Interest by November 15, 2020.

The organization has created a YouTube information piece to explain the program, which you can review below:

You can learn more about the program from the BC Healthy Communities website.
