Regional District to hear presentation on Vehicle Charging initiative for Northern BC

Prince Rupert plays the host for this month's Regional District meeting, with the  Coastal Business Centre the venue for the session starting at 7PM.

Tonight's Regional District  agenda features a range of items for review with the Directors to review a number of correspondences, as well as reports on the Pilotage Act Review and the status of the 2015-12018 Strategic Priorities.

Members will also be asked to give their votes on the District's Five year Financial Plan for 2017-2021.

As part of the work ahead on the night, Directors will also provide their reports from their communities and the  Board will review their schedule of meetings for 2018.

A personnel matter will see the Regional District Board hold an in camera meeting to review information related to the Boards review and consideration for a position with the District.

One item that has Mayor Lee Brain looking forward to the night's events is a presentation from the Community Energy Association, which will see CEA Executive Director Dale Littlejohn outline the proposal for the creation of an electric vehicle charging network to run from Prince Rupert to Kamloops.

A preview of the organization's presentation tonight can be found on the Regional District Agenda listings, starting on page 11.
