Monday night, Council heard a report from Corinne Bomben, the City's Financial Officer who outlined the request to Council to authorize the borrowing of $890,000 through the Municipal borrowing authority.
Council was quick to approve that request, with no discussion or comments introduced related to the motion.
As we outlined on the blog earlier this summer, Fire Chief Dave McKenzie took possession of the new pumper in June, the arrival of the Crossfire EXT Rosenbauer pumper makes for the latest upgrade to the city's fire fighting apparatus.
Members of the Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue Department have a new ride with the new pumper unit frequently seen around town in recent days |
Over the last few years, the Prince Rupert Fire Department has introduced a number of new vehicles into service, including a Ladder Truck, Squad Response Truck and Incident command vehicles to the fleet.
Ms. Bomben's report for Council is available on page 45 of the Council Agenda for September 11th.
Her presentation to Council can be viewed below starting at the 7 minute mark.
