Lax Kw'alaams members to hear update on Pacific NorthWest LNG planning

The theme of LNG development will be on the agenda for Members of the Lax Kw'alaams Band later this month as the Band Council government hosts three information meetings to update members on the latest notes related to the Pacific NorthWest LNG project.

The community engagements sessions are planned for Lax Kw'alaams, Prince Rupert and Vancouver and will explore some of the background to the potential relocation of the proposed marine shipment terminal to a location on Ridley Island.

The Band Council will also provide updates on the progress in concluding agreements with Pacific NorthWest LNG, Prince Rupert Gas Transmission, as well as the provincial and Federal
Governments.

The meetings, which are open to band members only and those planning to attend are advised to bring photo ID with them, which will be required to enter the information sessions.

The three community engagements take place as follows:

Lax Kw'alaams
Saturday, January 28 
An update on the proposed
Pacific NorthWest LNG project
will be provided for members
of Lax Kw'alaams later this month
2-4 PM at the Reg Sampson Gym at the Recreation Centre

Prince Rupert
Sunday, January 29
2-4 PM at the Tsimshian Room in the Highliner Inn

Vancouver
Monday, January 30
7 - 9 PM Captain's Room, Level 200 Rogers Arena, 
800 Griffiths Way - Gate 16

Pacific NorthWest LNG is currently conducting a complete review of their proposed LNG terminal project at Lelu Island, it's anticipated that they will outline their plans moving forward later this Spring.
