The mid October count of students enrolled in School District 52 classrooms found a slight decline in numbers from this time last year.
The count which took place on October 17th recorded 2,066 students as enrolled in District schools this year, a decline of 37 students from the official head count of September 30, 2013 when 2,103 students were counted as attending classes across the District.
While the overall numbers are down, there was one positive number to come from the mid-October review, Kindergarten numbers are up by 1 student, with 147 students counted in Kindergarten classes across the region, up from last year's total of 146.
According to the overview of the School District 52 meeting of November 10th, the decline in numbers was not an unexpected trend for SD52 this year.
