City expands information flow for Emergency Preparedness

Being prepared for Emergency situations on the North Coast is the theme of some expanded material on the City's website with a one stop community portal on local preparations now available for your review.

The project prominently placed on the main page of the City's information site offers up four themes of information  to this point.

Included among the things you need to know about are:

Notes about How to be prepared for the first 72 hours following any kind of an emergency

Emergency Contacts in the Community in the event of an emergency

What Emergency Social Services will be available during or after an Emergency

How You can lend assistance to the community when emergencies take place

For those with an interest in becoming part of that emergency response in the region, you can get more information about the program at emergency.response@princerupert.ca

Officials note that no previous experience is required and that training will be provided for those that offer their services to the community.

More items of interest on City of Prince Rupert initiatives can be found on our archive page here.

Notes related to the work of Emergency Responders in the Northwest can be reviewed here, while our past items on such events as earthquakes and weather related incidents can found here.
