Woodside Energy to hold Open House for Lax Kw'alaams on December 10th

Residents of Lax Kw'alaams can learn a bit more about an LNG proposal for the Grassy Point area, should they choose to take advantage of an Open House to be hosted by Woodside Energy this week.

As we outlined on the blog last week, the Australian energy company proposal was delivered a notice of the Environmental phase of the proposed development for Grassy Point.

To better inform the residents of Lax Kw'alaams, Woodside is hosting their informal Open House on Wednesday, December 10th from 6 to 8 PM at the Coast Tsimshian Academy Gymnasium.

On hand will be Woodside representatives to answer questions from community residents regarding their proposed development for the south end of Grassy Point.

The early aspect of their engagement in the Grassy Point area is to determine whether the project is feasible, no decision has been made by the company as to whether the facility will be built.

The Wednesday Open House, beyond acknowledging the impact that the project may have on the residents of Lax Kw'alaams, marks the first bit of momentum when it comes to the Grassy Point proposal, one of the many that have been proposed for the North Coast area in recent months.

You can learn more about their proposed development from our archive page here.
