City's one year commercial marijuana prohibition plan is the focus for Public Hearing next week
Towards that issue, Council is set to review the topic by calling for a Public Hearing on the topic for February 6th.
The original Public Hearing on the issue had been postponed as a result of the cancellation of the January 23rd Council Session.
That decision while reducing the number of opportunities for public feedback to council, if nothing else allowed for residents to have some more time to collect their thoughts and make their plans to weigh in on the issue for the City Council collective.
The re-scheduled Public hearing will take place at 7 PM on Monday evening, making for the Opening Act for the Regular City Council session of that evening.
In a public notice posted to the city's website, the City calls for the participation of all persons who deem themselves affected by the proposed bylaw.
Should those interested in the topic find that they can't make it to Monday's public hearing in person, they can submit their comments in writing.
However you will have to write or type fast, as that correspondence must be delivered to City Hall by tomorrow no later than 4:30.
The proposed bylaw amendment was introduced at the January 9th Council session, some background on the issue can be reviewed from our notes on the topic here.
The full content of the proposed zoning amendment bylaw can be reviewed from the Agenda package from the January 9th council meeting, the documentation starts at page 41.
