City Council Preview, Monday, November 9, 2015

Should the details (such as they are) posted to the Agenda for tonight's Council meeting be any kind of an indication, the evening should be a fairly short one for the Mayor and the city's council members.

A review of the outline of tonight's meeting provides only headings for potential topics, with no background as to any actual details for those interested in what they might have on tap for the first meeting of November.

The only area where there is a definitive item up for discussion is at the the end of the evening, when Council will hear an update on the ongoing efforts of the City's Housing Committee.

The full review of the evening ahead can be found from the Regular Council Agenda for November 9, 2015.

Prior to the Regular Council session, Council members will conduct a Closed Session at 5 PM , where they will hold discussions related to two topics that Council believes requires the exclusion of the public :

the acquisition, disposition or expropriation of land or improvements, if the council considers that disclosure could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality;

and

 negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a municipal service that are at their preliminary stages and that, in the view of the council, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality if they were held in public.

Below we'll highlight the different elements of this evenings work from the Regular session Agenda, should there be any further background available on each item, the page number from the Agenda is listed in red.

The Regular  Council session starts off with the adoption of agendas and minutes.

Petitions and Delegations

Any Unfinished Business is then up next on the Agenda.

Followed by Reports and Recommendations

Requests follow next in the night's timeline.

Followed by any late Correspondences for Action

Resolutions from Closed meetings and Resolutions from Closed Meetings

Bylaws mark the next item of the Agenda on the night.

The evening then wraps up with Additional Items from Council members, as well as Reports, Questions and inquiries from Members of Council.

On the latter theme, Council members have indicated that more discussion related to the City's Housing Committee will take place at this time.
