A busy year at the Human Resources office at City Hall

As we've noted through the year, 2015 has proven to be a pretty active and successful experience one for those looking to catch on with a job for the City of Prince Rupert.

The hiring surge has been a key element of Mayor Brain and the current City Council's first year in office and while the topic of employment additions rarely makes it into the conversation at the regular City council session, the City has been adding to the employment notices with a fairly regular pace.

With the City on its accelerated employment program, we thought it might be time, heading as we are into the fourth quarter of 2015 to provide a review of the positions we been tracking over the last nine months.

April -- Resident Scientist Position
May -- Statistician for GO Plan Survey
May -- GIS/IT Position
May -- Golf Course Superintendent
May -- Assistant Manager of Finance
May -- Communication Manager
May -- Casual Employment positions (no number of positions available noted)
June -- Public Works Mechanic
June -- Building Inspector Level 1 or 2
June -- Assistant Operations Manager
June -- Engineering Technologist
July -- Heavy Equipment Operator
July -- Facility Custodian 1
July -- Ice Maker II
July -- Project Coordinator
August -- Heavy Duty Mechanic
September -- Manager of Community Development and Innovation
September -- Accounts Payable Clerk
September -- Deputy Corporate Administrator
September -- Junior Economic Development Officer

While the City has been pretty active at posting the help wanted notices, they've been a little less enthusiastic when it comes to providing notice of the successful candidates, something that other communities tend to do shortly after the new employee has taken to his or her new job.

So with that addendum, keep in mind some of the above list may still host vacancies.

Some background on the above opportunities from the list  and other employment related notes can be found from our blog items along the way through the year. We'll continue to update the listings as the new notices of opportunities appear on the City's career opportunities page.
