The Queen Charlotte Hospital project
has moved into its exterior work phase
Significant progress in the construction of the new hospital for Queen Charlotte City on Haida Gwai was reached this month, with the completion of the work on the exterior of the building and with its enclosure the work inside can now get underway at full speed.

Northern Health provided an update on the project this week, highlighting the progress to this point of the two story health care facility, which when completed will more than triple the amount of space from the current facility in the community.

It will feature eight acute care beds, a labour, delivery and recovery suite as well as a home and community care wing with eight residential care beds. The hospital will also feature a primary care centre and have space for diagnostic imaging, laboratory and pharmacy services.

The fifty million dollar project is expected to be completed by early 2016.
