With that first visit now complete, AAL has announced that it will be making regular, scheduled calls at the Port, a situation that the international shipping line believes will place it in a strong position to serve mining, energy and other projects in the region.

By expanding our Pacific Service and port network across the Pacific North West, we multiply our customers’ options and choice – ultimately impacting on the efficiency, delivery and overall competitiveness of their projects. “

AAL it would appear is quite impressed with the Port of Prince Rupert facilities, noting the newly established road and rail links that it features, observing as to the importance of the new gateway for access into Alberta's oil and mining areas.

The ships in the fleet for AAL's new service to Prince Rupert provide for three modern "A Class" multipurpose heavy lift vessels, part of the Pacific Service for the company a featuring a range of  vessels that you may soon see pulling into Prince Rupert Harbour bearing the AAL flag.

AAL has been providing shipping services for twenty years, concentrated in Asia and the South Pacific, adding Prince Rupert to their shipping timetables brings one more large international player to the Northwest gateway.

Something that should give other international shipping lines cause to see how things work out for AAL, keeping an eye on how Prince Rupert might be of interest to them as well.
