John Horgan, is making the trip to the North Coast this weekend, as the NDP leader of the opposition in Victoria, comes to town for an NDP event at the Prince Rupert Racquet Centre on Friday evening.

Hosted by the North Coast NDP Constituency Association, the reception takes place at 6:30 PM on Friday at the 9th Avenue West facility, with tickets costing 20 dollars. Appetizers and deserts will be served as part of the event and a cash bar will also be available as part of the evening's festivities.

Mr. Horgan has been taking the NDP's position on LNG and other issues of note for the Northwest to the Legislature in recent weeks, highlighting the NDP's concerns over the Government's handling of the LNG file in particular over the last few months.

The NDP leader recently provided an editorial page contribution to the Vancouver Sun on the theme, observing as to the how the party believes that the Liberals are on the wrong path in their approach to the development of the resource and the opportunity for the province that it may present.

It may make for part of his theme when he speaks on Friday at the Racquet Centre, local members of the NDP Constituency Association most likely will have other items to bring up as the evening moves along.

Friday night's stop at the Racquet Centre is part of a tour that the NDP leader is making of the North West, he will be in Terrace on Thursday evening, the guest of Skeena MLA Robin Austin and his wife Colleen.
